Computers and Internet

There are eight PCs in the library for Internet use which can be reserved for one hour at a time. The PCs are free to use, but a library card and password are required to reserve them (the password required for Internet services is provided by the library). Reservations can be made online at http://heinola.ajanvaraus.atp.fi

The main library has another four PCs which are meant for short-term use, such as checking emails. They cannot be reserved in advance, but a library card and password are required to use them.

Visitors and other people who need to use a PC temporarily can use the library’s computers with a guest login.

All public PCs have the Windows XP 2003 operating system, Office 2003 programs, CD-Rom drives, and can save documents to disk or USB storage devices. A scanner is available.

Printouts can be made from all PCs. Black & white printouts cost 50 cents per page.
