Siltasaari -Fishing Paradise Heinola
Fishing Paradise is a unique sport fishing area right in the middle of town, only an hour’s drive from the Helsinki region.  The area is 4km (2.5 mi.) long, with an area of approx. 245ha (605 acres). 

Fishing season:

Jyrängönvirta River all year, Pikkukoski rapids closed 11 Sept.–15 Nov. 

Fishing area: 

The sport fishing area covers approximately 4km (2.5 mi.) from Kaijakivi at the upper reaches of Jyrängönvirta to the southern tip of Koskensaari Island.  River fishing at Siltasaari fishing centre. 

Types of fishing:

Fly-fishing, trolling and bait casting.  There are 3 pools at Siltasaari, 6 pools in total in the area.  The area at the back of Pikkuvirta is only for fly-fishers; there is a new casting dock at Pikkuvirta.

Lake trout and salmon, rainbow trout, grayling, pikeperch, whitefish
