Heinola Summer Theatre presents the Finnish version of the musical comedy The Full Monty!

“Housut pois” is an action-packed comedy about a group of men who decide to sort out their unemployed status in a very personal way.

The play tells the story of some average working blokes who have lost their jobs. Unemployment grinds down the men’s self-belief, and their wives and girlfriends take over their roles as heads of the family.  The situation gets even worse when a troupe of male strippers visits their city, stirring up the women and crushing the men’s last traces of masculinity.
This gives the men an idea to earn their own money by putting on their own “real men’s” strip show.  The musical is a tale of friendship, love and having the courage to accept yourself.

The stage show is based on the hit movie The Full Monty.  Terence McNally adapted the story into a musical, with tunes by David Yazbek.  The show was a huge hit on Broadway and all over the world.

In 2008, Heinola Summer Theatre will welcome to its stage an all-star singing, dancing and “stripping” cast including Risto Kaskilahti, Jussi Lampi, Eero Saarinen and Markku Nenonen. Other roles are played by Sari Puumalainen and Laura Huhtamaa, with a group of dancers.
