HEINOLA’S TWIN CITIES:

Heinola’s twin cities are:

Karlshamn, Sweden
Peine, Germany
Piestany, Slovakia
Baranovits, Belarus

Ways of implementing activities are official delegate exchanges, as well as other activities such as school and organisational exchanges. The scope of activities is limited by the city’s economic contribution in the annual budget. The planned amount for use in twin cities is 30,000 euros per year.

International links

Our twin cities are the basis for our international links.

Activities related to sister cities include cultural exchanges, visits by groups of delegates, and various events.  The aim of our activities with our twin cities is to gradually introduce practical international activities according to the city government’s approved principles, so that every profit centre implements international activities with organisations and “regular” citizens and civic groups in selected areas of activity and in tandem with regular official delegate exchanges with selected countries (twin cities).
